France to end long-ignored tuition loophole, hiking fees 16-fold for non-EU students

Most international students from outside the European Union will pay around €2,900 to €3,900 (US$3,400 - 4,560) per year at French public universities starting next academic year, a roughly 16-fold increase from current fees, under a new government plan.
