Does certification expires?

I want to enroll in CompTIA security+ and network+ but from what I see on CompTIA website the security+ should expire this year to get renewed. Should i wait or not? From what one of my professor said, i should take it since there is not written on it “expires …” but just when you took it, I’m ju
